Our Commitment

BATS International Group prioritizes sustainability, striving to incorporate it thoroughly within our operations. We're focused on confronting climate change and environmental degradation by actively working to diminish our carbon footprint and foster a more sustainable future.

It's crucial to note, however, that BATS Consulting has not participated in the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), and that SBTi does not recognize any claim to carbon neutrality. Our approach to carbon neutrality is aligned to SBTi definition which is offsetting CO2 emissions without the extensive emission reductions associated with the path to net-zero. This strategy emphasizes the difference from net-zero targets, which necessitate significant emission reductions. By clarifying this distinction, we aim to maintain transparency and avoid any implications of greenwashing.

Our commitment extends beyond just offsetting emissions. We're engaged in making meaningful, measurable changes in our operational practices to actively reduce emissions. Our focus is on substantive sustainability efforts that have a genuine impact on the planet, going beyond nominal actions. By upholding transparency and integrity, we ensure that our environmental efforts are authentic and impactful, consciously steering away from greenwashing and towards contributing positively and sustainably to our world.

Energy Transition

We will shift towards the use of renewable energy, by using solar panels and wind turbines. This change will not only reduce our reliance on fossil fuels but also demonstrate our dedication towards climate change.

Sustainable Transportation

We are moving our company fleet to electric vehicles, significantly reducing our greenhouse gas emissions and setting a standard for eco-friendly corporate transportation.

Smart Travel Choices

To minimize our carbon footprint, we are adopting a policy of using only road travel for business on the same island, thus cutting down on the environmental impact associated with short-haul flights.

Paperless Operations

We are driving towards a paperless environment. Aside from essential documents like invoices, contracts, and specific client-requested product documentation, all our corporate activities are digital, conserving resources and reducing waste.

Food Waste Management

Our commitment to sustainability extends to responsible food waste management. We have initiated an office composting program to recycle organic food waste.

Plastic Reduction

Reducing plastic use is a priority, and we're promoting the use of tumblers, reusable cups, and tote bags to eliminate single-use plastics from our offices and facilities.

Eco Friendly Vendor

As a company committed to sustainability, we prioritize partnering with vendors who demonstrate a strong commitment to environmental responsibility. We engage with vendors who actively minimize environmental impact through efficient use of resources, sustainable materials, and innovative waste reduction practices.

Employee Housing

We support and incentivize employee housing options that are close to the workplace, including on-site living. This reduces the need for commuting, lowers emissions, and enhances the work-life balance of our employees.

Eco-Friendly Air Travel

When air travel is necessary, we prioritize airlines that use environmentally friendly aircraft and have the best track records in fuel efficiency.

Title

Carbon Neutral Statement

PT BATS International Group has achieved carbon neutrality for the year 2023. In 2023, BATS has achieved carbon neutral status by retiring carbon credit and emission reduction strategies. With this status, it will act as a catalyst for organizational efficiency by giving us an extra incentive to keep emissions to a minimum.

This our equation for carbon neutrality in 2023:

CO2 Emissions (tonnes) Description Total
Scope 1 Mobile Combustion 4.08
Fugitive Emissions 1.36
Total 5.45
Scope 2 Purchased Electricity-Location Based 11.59
Scope 3 Purchased Goods and Services 14.72
Waste Generated in Operations 0.23
Employee Commuting 6.03
Business Travel 5.72
Total 26.70
Total Carbon Emission 43.73
Carbon Credit Buffer (5%) based on Permen LHK No.21/2022 2.19
Total CO2 Emissions for Neutralization 45.92

Based on this assessment, we have invested in carbon credit for the Building of Gas-Fueled Power Plant PLTGU Block 3 PJB Muara Karang for 46 tonnes of CO2 emission for our scope 1, scope 2, and scope 3 emission. This project utilizes gas fuel with the Latest Gas Turbine Technology and is the first power plant in Indonesia that uses a combined cycle so that it can minimize emissions.

Through this carbon credit, we are not only balancing our carbon footprint, but also supporting global efforts in environmental preservation. This initiative reflects our dedication to a greener and more sustainable future for Indonesia and the earth.
